Top Reasons Why 2015 Will Be ‘The Year of Theo James’
There’s no denying 2014 was a great year for Theo James! His starring role in the hit film, “Divergent” made the British actor a worldwide star. The New Year promises we’ll see much more of Theo and his unique project choices will surely prove he’s more than just a swoon worthy action star!
Here are our Top Reasons Why 2015 Will Be “The Year of Theo James.”
Theo reprises his role of Four in this sequel to “Divergent.” Co-star Shailene Woodley promised more action and anyone who has read the novels by Veronica Roth knows it’s true. Theo was amazing doing his own stunts in the first film and we can’t wait to see what he does in “Insurgent.” The second installment is also more emotional which will allow Theo to show a softer side. “Insurgent” premieres March 20th, 2015.
We were really hoping to see the film adaptation of this Martin Amis’ best seller at one of the independent film festivals in 2014, but it looks like we’ll all have to wait a bit longer. The story of a femme fetale, Nicola Six (Amber Heard) who has a premonition of her own murder at the hands of one of the men in her life is sure to show a whole different side of Theo James! Theo plays Guy Clinch, a rich, married and very naive man who falls for Nicola and is one of her possible killers. Billy Bob Thornton plays writer Samson Young and Jim Sturgess plays the dart playing crook and all around scumbag, Keith Talent. Cara Delevingne, Jaimie Alexander and Lily Cole also star and Johnny Depp will make a cameo. No release date yet for “London Fields” but we’ll keep watching for it!
“Franny”
Theo will star alongside Richard Gere and Dakota Fanning for this Andrew Renzi film. Gere plays the part of Franny, who latches onto the daughter of deceased friends and her new husband (Dakota and Theo) in an attempt to relive his past. Renzi developed “Franny” at The Sundance Institute’s 2013 Screenwriters’ Lab and there was talk the film would debut at The Sundance Film Festival in 2015 but sadly it will not. The Internet Movie Database (IMDB) currently lists a premiere for “Franny” in Italy on April 2nd, 2015. This date may coincide with The Rome Independent Film Festival.
“Secret Scripture”
This is another highly anticipated book adaptation and Theo’s most interesting role choice so far! Theo James will play Catholic priest Father Gaunt in this story of a woman writing the story of her life from inside the walls of a mental institution. Set in Ireland, this film has an amazing cast including Vanessa Redgrave, Eric Bana and Aiden Turner. It will be exciting to see Theo play so completely against type and we can’t wait for this one. The latest rumor is that filming will begin in Ireland in February 2015.
We see big things ahead for Theo James in 2015! We here at F’Yeah Theo James plan to keep watching and reporting the latest Theo news into 2015 and beyond. Happy New Year Theo-logians!
