Top 10 Scenes We Can’t Wait To See In (3D) Insurgent!
It sure is a long wait until the March 20th, 2015 premiere of “Insurgent,” the second installment in the “Divergent” series. Last week’s release of the 3D posters only made us more anxious to see Theo James, Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, Mekhi Phifer and the rest back in action! So as we wait for the trailer to debut with “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1” on November 21st, let’s review the Top 10 scenes we just can’t wait to see from “Insurgent!” (Minor spoilers for those who haven’t read the book, but seriously, READ THE BOOK!)
1. Fourtris
Theo James and Shailene Woodley will reprise their roles as Four/Tobias and Tris/Beatrice for “Insurgent” and their relationship just gets closer and more intense in the second book. We love the actors chemistry together and can’t wait to see more of their romance. (And watch them kiss in 3D!)
2. The Amity Faction and Johanna
We were beyond thrilled when the lovely and talented Octavia Spencer joined the “Insurgent” cast in the role of Amity leader Johanna. The Oscar-winning actress will be amazing! Four, Tris and the others fleeing Erudite’s take over will spend some time with Johanna and Amity and the Georgia countryside looks like the perfect setting for those scenes.
3. Theo’s Arms
This is, after all, a Theo James blog! We couldn’t help but notice in the behind the scenes pictures and at San Diego Comic Con, that Theo has done some pretty intense work on his arms. And we want to thank him for that! In “Divergent,” it was Theo’s back and that awesome tattoo that got all the attention, but for “Insurgent,” we can’t wait to check out Four’s guns.
4. Peace Serum
If you’ve read “Insurgent,” we know you can’t wait to see this scene either! We hope Tris on Peace Serum is as funny and cute in the movie as it was in the book. We have to admit we were a bit disappointed that we didn’t get to see Four drunk in The Pit in “Divergent” so we hope they make up for that oversight with this one!
5. Battle Scenes
“Insurgent” is action packed and we can’t wait to watch Theo and Shai kick some butt! We left our heroes as they were fleeing the evil Erudites and that’s right where the story will pick up. These scenes should be particularly exciting to watch in 3D!
6. Four’s Mom
Another incredible talent to join the “Insurgent” cast is Naomi Watts who will play Four’s mother, Evelyn. If you’re up on the story, you know that Tobias/Four thought his mother was dead, but her life and many other secrets will be revealed!
7. Truth Serum
Tris and Four are forced to be very candid by the Candor Faction as they look for allies against Erudite and Dauntless. Both are injected with Truth Serum and even though Tris is Divergent, some shocking and painful truths come out.
8. Uriah!!!
Many fans (us included) were disappointed that we didn’t get to meet one of their favorite characters from the books, Uriah, in the “Divergent” movie. But they’re making up for it in “Insurgent” with the casting of Australian actor, Keiynan Lonsdale for the coveted role. Uriah is really fun character and a very good friend to Tris so we’re looking forward to seeing Keiynan on the big screen and in 3D with Shailene!
9. Four and Marcus
We don’t want to give too much away for those who haven’t read the book, (READ THE BOOK!) but let’s just say Four gets back some of his own in “Insurgent” and this will definitely be a cheer-worthy scene in the movie!
10. Tris and Four Imprisoned
Again, we don’t want to spoil the movie, but Tris and Four end up in a very dangerous situation and things don’t look good for our favorite Divergent duo. This whole sequence should be very intense and emotional to watch!
So those are our Top 10, can’t-wait, dying-to-see, why-can’t-March-get-here-already scenes from “Insurgent.” Tell us what scenes you can’t wait to see up on the big screen in 3D! The trailer is coming so until then, Initiates, Be Brave!
