Theo James, Dylan O’Brien, Ansel Elgort, and Other YA Movie Actors (The Guide)
Theo James, Dylan O’Brien, Ansel Elgort, Brenton Thwaites, and Josh Hutcherson were featured this morning on the Washington Post‘s “Guide to YA Movie Actors”. Below is what they had to say about Theo:
Theo James
Age: 29
YA movie role: He started a mini-revolution with Shailene Woodley’s character in “Divergent,” the popular triology adapted into a movie with many “Hunger Games” comparisons, and became her love interest.
You might know also him as: Mr. Pamuk from “Downton Abbey,” also known as the seductive Turkish diplomat who drops dead in Lady Mary’s bed.
Shot at stardom: Middling so far. Despite a Teen Choice Award, he’s not as well known — a couple films but nothing big lined up beyond the “Divergent” sequel.
Tabloid potential: Much better, thanks to a persistent buzz about his maybe-not-platonic relationship with Woodley.
What is missing from the above is the fact that Theo has also signed up to be the lead of the 5th Underworld movie titled “Underworld: Next Generation“, basically taking over the franchise. That is hardly “nothing big”. Besides that, Theo is also lined up to work on The Secret Scripture long with Eric Bana and Rooney Mara and slated to start filming this fall.
